I recently decided to cater to my need for nostalgia and watched some old cartoon openings. Let me tell you, it was awesome and 90's cartoons were freaking glorious. The 90's were when people actually gave a shit about kid shows and actually had some QUALITY. Most cartoons now don't really have any value or substance to them, it's like they think kids will soak in any garbage they broadcast.
But I'll save that rant for later.
One of the cartoon openings I watched was Cybersix, one of my favourite shows as a kid but forgot about because it was so short and didn't stand a chance next to the length of Pokemon and Digimon. This show was when cartoons were made right, everything mattered and they didn't half-ass anything. Cybersix's animation was beautiful and they rarely repeated a sequence, ever fight scene was unique and different and they didn't always glorify Cybersix herself. They showed that she was still vulnerable and wasn't always on top of everything. She actually had faults and insecurities but were not shown in a shitty melodramatic fashion. The music was fantastically suiting and the overall style of the drawings was unmatchable and unique.
But anyway, I wanted to draw her in her disguise as Adrian because really, what better way to hide your identity than to dress as the opposite gender? She's just adorable as the geeky literature teacher and her crush on Lucas makes it even more cute I just have so much love for women who crossdress to hide their identity.
So I wanted to draw something simple and cute. I tried to incorporat as much details of a biology teacher's classroom as I could without overloading it. The beaker on the table was a total fail but hey, I'm still learning right?
Mediums used: Touch markers, Pigmasensei pens, Prismacolour red pens, white gel pen, sharpie, pencil.
